Despite numerous words with our postie about leaving parcels with neighbours he still refuses to do so. It's ruddy annoying, coming home and seeing a red card shoved in with all the other letters and packages. We're always the last house he delivers to, and even when we are in he won't wait more then 5 seconds before jumping in his van and storming off up the road. I've now gotta wait till Monday !

Does he actually bring the parcels from the sorting office?

Yes a right PITA. Not just UK we had exactly the same in Paris and we where in at the time ! TBH I get all parcels delivered to the office even though its officially against the rules. The worst was massive and I mean massive box with 50 plates/bowls in, needed a trolley to move it does to lift/car 😳 made the full groupset box look tiny

Maybe your neighbours refuse to take your parcels in?

Get a secure box for him to put them in. Also, call the card a docket and write to the depot manager requesting you no longer have door-to-doors delivered.

Speak the language and do your postie a favour and he'll become your best mate 🙂

Edit:Also tip him at christmas

I thought delivery offices opened on Sundays these days for us to collect items put on a red card? Check opening times on the card, my local depot opens 1000-1600 on Sundays iirc.

I'm the opposite, hassle to get an answer from neighbours so wish they'd take it to the depot. These days get any non letter stuff delivered to work, much easier all round. Will be interesting in a few weeks when I get a sumo guard delivered for my car!!

Why on earth should you tip someone for them to do the very thing they are paid to do?
