Preparing sushi is more technique than recipes. Maybe look into getting her lessons?

Not necessarily; some sushi is bits & bobs mixed with rice - not so technical to prepare.

Whatever you do only use sushi grade fish!
Or don't use raw fish.
Or suffer ๐Ÿ™‚

You might be better getting her a kit than a book as she can find out all she needs to know online.

BTW making rolls is friggin hard!

Sushi is all about the rice, obessiveness about the rice preparation in fact. Prepping the 'toppings' arent to get excited about, just really good quality really fresh stuff.

Anyway I have this The Book Of Sushi its about 15yrs old but pretty much unused, you can have it for the postage if you like.

I suggest you save your money, the internet has everything you need, because there's more interesting japanese stuff like shabu-shabu - buy a pot and a camping stove and cook a deux, very romantic.

mail me in profile if you want
