What can you recommend to replace my Rock Shox Dart 2, I don't know really where to start.

Are these any good - SUNTOUR XCM SUSPENSION LOCK OUT FORKS MTB 26??

So help is needed.

Sorry, but you really want to be looking secondhand.

Not very helpful I know.

£100 max? You won't get anything better than what you have for that new - be difficult even secondhand I would have thought

The Darts are making a funny noise, a small knocking for the last two rides, could be to do with the weather?, I don't know.

My mate is selling Rock Shox Sids with lock out, a few yeas old for £100, I thought it was a bit steap but by the sounds of it, that seems a good deal.

Go for the talas above. Light years ahead if what you have or are considering.

These would be an upgrade, though slightly higher than your budget:-

These are a direct replacement for less:-

SIDs sound like a good buy, but can't be sure without inspection.

Look out on Ebay, and don't take the first set you see.
I managed to bag a pretty minted Recon Air 130mm for £70 + P+P on a buy it now in august. It had only been on Ebay for 6 minutes!

I've just sold a good condition DART 2 90mm on Ebay for £36, which would have been a much better option than the Suntour your looking at.

A decent 2008-ish second hand Tora or Recon should easily be within reach for £100. If your after something with a steerer length under 200mm then the competition becomes a lot easier.

I currently have DART 2 but they are making a funny knocking noise (knocking when in sus mode), do they need to be replaced or servicing?

Sometimes a strip and clean will do the trick. Or even just clean out the seal wipers by dropping oil on the stanchions and bouncing the fork several times, then wipe stanchions and repeat. Check the allen bolts are tight at the bottom of the fork too.

Rochey - those marzocchi on http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MARZOCCHI-ALUMINIMUM-XCR-BOMBER-SUSPENSION-FORK-/170575050924?pt=UK_sportsleisure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&hash=item27b710b8ac
/p>

would be ideal, a good air fork and low maintance - pretty much fit and forget
