Mrs D wants a spinning bike for lockdown v2.0. Any solid options at between £250-500?

Loads of second hand spin bikes from gyms, the big chains will upgrade their whole fleet every year or so, and the bikes are designed to last years.

Have a look on Ebay.

Just did the same thing a few weeks back. A bit more than your budget but a 2nd hand Keiser M3 (they are around £625) gets you a great spin bike. Magnetic resistance and belt drive means it's silent, or near enough. Great display gives you rpm, power, "gear", time, trip plus heart rate if you have a compatible sensor. Really good.

I came on here to suggest both EBay and Keiser 😹

Get one with a belt rather than a chain. We've had both over the years and the belt is by far the quietest and smoothest.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Having spoken to Mrs D she is adamant she wants a new one even if it means lower quality. She won’t be convinced otherwise.

Any suggestions on new ones in that price range?

We had one of these

Impulse buy (off Ebay) by the wife, rarely used - took up a load of space for years and then eventually sold on...

Build out of solid steel - weighed an absolute ton (literally).

The problem is that for £500 she isn't going to get a new bike that gives a half-descent experience and she won't use it after the initial novelty has worn off.
