More old Pentium-D dual core system is getting rather limiting and I'd like to get something new. However, money is a bit tight so I'd like to put most of it into a quality base unit with upgrade potential and use my current CRT monitor, keyboard etc. to be replaced when money allows.
I was thinking of a decent quad core system with 4Gb+ of memory and a reasonable graphics card that would allow some game play. I'm happy with the soundcard I have, so that could be transfered across. I was hoping to keep things to about £500-£600 (probably the lower end if I need to add an OEM Windows 7 installation). Any thoughts?
