I'm a chicken madras man at heart but tonight I'm trying swinton's most popular Indian, the Bilash Balti.
As it's a first, I thought I'd try something different. I like heat in a dish and I'd prefer chicken as the meat.
Have you lot got any recommendations for me? Nom....

Well if you like chillies, Chicken Jalfrezi is always a good one to go with

I always like a good Patia, hot and sour, although it really does depend on the restaurant...

I'm a patia man aswell, it's usually very hot n spicy. Otherwise, handi Gosht (mutton stew) at my local is very spicy.

I usually ask the waiter what they recommend if I want something new - or some around our way do these ones that are chicken and minced meat in a sauce (all call them something different) and I just ask them to do it at a particular strength.

I'm ashamed to admit that I plumped for a chicken madras.

But - I thought it best to try my regular dish to establish a measure of the place. I will use it again and try other stuff. The madras was superb.

I ordered

2 poppadums
1 onions & 1 mango chutney
A mixed starter
Chicken madras
Pilau rice
1 chipati

I got

4 poppadums
2 x onions, 2 x mango chutney 1 lassi
Tupperware type box with shredded lettuce, tomato, lemon
Mixed started of onion bhaji, lamb tikka, tandoori chicken, seekh kebabs
Madras and rice
Chipati
2 x 275ml bottles of Carlsberg.

Total cost £9.35 and all was fresh, hot and delish.

Highly recommended and nice freebies!

Ahh well, I can live with that.

Just try not to think about her and John Major though...

Have you seen the leaked video of them! Makes Pam and Tommy Lee look tame.

anyway, unless you folks collect £250 for me by 8pm this evening, I'll be posting it under some innocent thread name and it will be too late.

Madhur's favourite is a Malaysian curry. Not Malaya or Malay or Maysan or Himalayan, Malaysian

Not exactly local to you, but the lamb pathia from chatni in methven (outside perth) is just fanfekkintastic and one of, if not the best of curries i have tasted.
