Pleased with our Weber Smokey Joe - seems solid and works well. Nice smokey flavour if you use the lid too.

I don't know if you live anywhere with a Turkish community nearby, but if you do, then some Turkish grocers do mini 'mangals', which are basically small rectangular metal tins, about 12x8" by 5" or so deep, with a grille over the top. You can buy them in little kits with charcoal, or they use BBQ charcoal. Very cheap, and a great solution in small spaces, like my tiny balcony. LiDLS do a mini-BBQ, although it's a bit flimsy, for about £5.

What Mr Bethel said ^^^^

Very good, compact design, allowing you to start cooking very quickly and even pack the BBQ away within 10 mins of being finished with it.

Use a wheel. Car one works best. Steel won't melt. Bung a bit of plate over the hole in the middle. I weld 16" Landrover wheels to the top of Calor gas bottles. The ones about 2 foot high. Wait til they are empty or look in your local ditch for one. Point them away from you lying down and hit the valve with a big hammer to get it off. Fill with water to totally empty it of gas. Weld wheel on. Fill with water if you want super stability. Just the right height for sitting by and a log or two after you have finished cooking will keep you toasty while you finish of the last of the food and the crappy lager that you mates brought.
