I need to lay some turf. Any tip or is it as easy as it looks? Is B&Q the best place to buy said turf?

Put all your effort into preparing the ground (levelling, raking, waling over it to compress it some, then raking again, repeat until bored) then it should take easily.
If you have some big planks to walk on to prevent heels going through it as you work it makes life easier, and don't butt the ends of rolls up to each other, overlap them and cut through both layers to get a closer joint (and fewer holes afterwards).
Looked in yellow pages and got stuff from a local place, cheaper and fresher looking than B&Q stuff.
Oh, and if it doesn't rain, water it like it's on fire, daily.
Quite satisfying once it is done 🙂

Try and look at the turf before you buy it (don't just buy it on the phone) we made that mistake last year and it was really crap quality. I know nothing about gardening except digging holes, luckily the other half does so we sent it back.

We put grass seed down in the end, pidgeons loved that.
