Did anyone invest when they were 10p? I was seriously tempted to invest the proceeds from my house sale at the time. Now they're 50p and I'd be able to buy a whole new house in cash. I didn't out of fear of losing the lot.
Grrrrrr, if only it WAS that easy.
😆
No.
I bought them at 350p.
🙁
As a market professional (ahem) I'd say why not just get yourself down to the local casino and bet it all on black, or red.....or something.
Bank stocks are a casino

If you ever have those thoughts again get on your bike and go for a long ride. Don't stop until you are too tired to call a stockbroker.
I know how good hindsight is, but what my instincts told me were to invest. My cautious side said don't be silly. Welcome to the world of gambling, I guess.
they'll be at £3.00 in 12 months
A guy I work with bought 3 grands worth when they were 11p, I think he also got a few hundred quids worth of Barclays when they were about 70p, they are at 350p now. And this guy wasnt loaded this was money he couldnt afford to lose.
I jumped on the bandwagon a bit late, and I don't really have any spare money so I got 100 quids worth of RBS but by then they were already up to 30p, Bouyed with the success I had there I got myself 100 quids worth of Lloyds last week at 88p and then they topped 100p.....just checked back down to 96p now
I nearly chucked £2k worth of redundancy money on shares for the company that made me redundany. They went from 45p when I would have bought them to 99p a few months later. BUM!!
Still, at the time, I couldn't risk all that cash. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Im too timid to weigh into individual stocks too heavily, but I did grab a good chunk of FTSE units at 3750-3800 ish for a 5-10yr hold.
I remember some guy on here who put his shirt on Northern Rock stock when they looked about as low as they could go 😯
Don't know if he's still around or whether sales of the Big Issue are doing well
I bought a share & then sold it for a bit of a profit a while ago and felt quite pleased with myself.
Not long after, they plummeted. On all the bulletin boards people were buying them in their hoards convinced they couldn't go lower. People were claiming to buy £10k+ worth of shares at 35p a share.....they then dropped to 5p. MMmmmmmm, nice.
