Open a folder which contains 20 pictures.
Rename first pictures - all ok.
Rename second picture - thumbnail changes to the same as first picture!
Rename third picture - changes to thumbnail of what second picture was (before it changed to first picture!)

Are you changing the name of the second picture to what the first picture was before?
There's some hidden file in a Windows folder, it's name escapes me right now, starts with a dot, that stores details about the files in that folder (preview icons etc.) Try deleting that.

Deleting the hidden file called "thumbs" seems to fix it.
