The RCD protecting the sockets and lights in my garage keeps tripping when my washing machine AND tumble dryer are on. It's only started in the last week. If either are used alone, it doesn't go.

How do I find out which machine is causing the fault and how do I fix it?

Sounds like you might be drawing more power than the circuit is set up for.  Was it ok before?  Made any changes recently?

Yes DT78, I've recently had an electric car. I've just unplugged it and lo and behold, both appliances operating happily now.

Need to move my outside plug to it's own RCD.

Thanks

Do you mean a circuit breaker has tripped?

Or is it a RCBO?

What Ampage is it? 20 - 32?

Is it one RCD protecting the whole fuse board? If so, It could be that both appliances are leaking current causing the RCD to trip.
