How about Ernie, sounds like a dog's name to me 🙂

Whatever you choose, remember you'll be shouting that name in public for the next 15 years...

How about Deefer as in D for dog?

or

Crapper

or

Dog

or

Rude Boy

or go the 'Cove' option

Stiffee, Hummer, Hand job etc (you'll have hours of fun calling his name!!)

Sea areas are good too:

Rockall, Malin,Shannon, Biscay, Viking etc

not sure that German Bight would be suitable 😳

Failing that then Dave! 😆

So, you're going to tell your kids that "pickles" is a stupid name, but it's OK, you got a better one on the internet. And it's "dave".

Resultamundo. 😀

Two suggestions from me.

The first will be superb when walking the dog in the park, as you would be able to yell after the dog to "Come on...." when he's lagging behind you.
The suggestion is - Myface

The second will be superb when the dog is on the furniture at home when he shouldn't be and you yell at him to "Get down"
The suggestion is - Nboogie

I think slightly goofy sounding person names are best (no offence anyone :P) - Keith, Derek, Norman, Nigel etc

PMSL @ CFH.

I think that Duke would be a good name for a Staff. But i would wait till you've got the dog and then see what comes to mind, different dogs seem to have different characters

in a similar vein to CFH,

"Syndrome"

For training purposes, keep it short, for embarassement purposes make it something you dont mind shouting.

ie. not pickles - for the dogs sake dont let your kids name it.

Briliant! Loving Myface and Nboogie! Dave seems to be getting lots of mentions, as does Killer , two of mine are Clyde and Nero. A rottie called Bubbles is also pretty cool, also thought about Badger or Stimpy!

Stay away from naming it after footballers etc. Know lots of staffy owners with dog's called Rooney who don't support Man U!

Short, distinct sound and not embarassing to shout repeatedly across the park are good ideas,

Buster, Butch and Prince are pretty common names for Staffies who can be fantastic pets in the right hands. Just make sure you socialise it with other dogs eg puppy training classes etc.

I once had a Russian Hamster and named it Smirnoff (so you can see where I'm going with this)

Staffs
Staffy
Lichfield
Cannock
Moseley
Bass
Roaches

If it's a girl
Anthea
Turner
Baxendale (Helen)

Boy
Stanley
Matthews

Or you could call it Dave
