I do not work for or know these people - I got 4 brand new conti winter contacts from Ex Tyres in Salford, who sell via ebay. £35 EACH!!!! Car takes odd size tyre and it was pretty hard tracking any down from the usual sources.

When I was there I noticed they had loads of winter tyres, new and part worn, and a container loads was being unloaded with more.

Car is totally transformed driving on snow, as expected.

Good call - look interesting

Do they effect your insurance as a modification or is that an urban myth?

If they are the same size as the original spec tyres then no.

Good find, and fantastic price! You'll notice the difference, in rain and standing water too.

I think it's an urban myth. Unless the tyres are studded, which might be classed as a modification. Winter tyres are just a slightly softer compound with more aggressive tread.

I think it's an urban myth.

Well, if you live an urban lifestyle it may well seem so.

I've just realised that CountZero was talking about the insurance premium rise being an urban myth - not the advantages of the tyres themselves!
