As much as I love sausages from a local butcher the caramelised red onion ones from Costco deserve a mention.
It's British Sausage Week every week in our house.
its british sausage week every week in my trousers
Gillian Taylforth doing the promo !
WooHoo indeed.
Good PSA, vote this the best PSA of the Year.
Fact.
To celebrate next week I'm organising a good old traditional 'Hide the Sausage' event at a carpark in my local woods
I prefer a bit of French Sausage myself.
In personally conducted tests, 9 out of 10 women preferred the taste of Irish sausage. As did hora.
Erm, lets have no foreign* muck, keep it British lads, hurumph, keep it British.
I'm now on the hunt for a weeks supply.
Off to Google I go.
* I mean no frenchie bangers like init.

God I love sausages.
MrsBouys out and the place stinks of pork 😯
Methinks I shall sample as many sausages from as many butchers as possible next week!
We've got a local Charcutier - absolutely awesome sausages and bacon: Burtons bangers
If anyone's anywhere near the north east; take a trip to his market stall and be mightily impressed 🙂
a local Charcutier
doesn't sound very British!
Are Linda McCartney sausages made in the uk?
Linda McCartney sausages?
Surely the alcohol-free larger of the sausage world? 😉
I was being intentionally slightly provocative 🙂
The Cauldron ones aren't bad for veggie, though.
Tonight will be the 'Porker' from our local butcher & Friday will involve a nice venison suasage from a game butchers near work. Not sure what'll be consumed inbetween but I've a long list of favourites to work from 🙂
" cough"
Erm...
Bump.
Today I have curry flavoured pork wonderment. I shall mostly be eating these with rice, pilau.
And kingfisher beer.
Ah... Brings back memories of the sausage trail in Ludlow a couple of years back. My 5 year old daughter thought that was the bet thing ever, eating sausages all afternoon!.
toad in the hole at least twice this week then, cheap snags to posh sauages have all got a place in my life.
A tip. Boil your sausage for a few mins. Then grill as normal.
I'm ashamed to say I do not know a decent butchers round our way. Anyone recommend one in manchester? City centre-ish please so I can call in on my way home.
Buzz, why? Flavour, texture, (whisper) healthier?
And don't aficionados say fry 'em don't grill?
In the spirit of Sausage week I had Sausage Carbonara for tea tonight! It was yummy. That is all.
I've been flagrantly showing the ladies of the southwest my Irish sausage this week. Many have been impressed. Many have called the police. I just told them "binners made me do it".
Leek & Pork with semolina mash & garlic peas.
Was holding back tears it was sooooo gorgeous.
It's Tuesday and I started on Saturday, this is going to be one of the best weeks in a very long time.

Look for the Red Tractor logo on your sausages to ensure the highest welfare, best quality, British, pork in your sausages!

Bravissimo - I'm proud to be associated with you flaunting your sausage 😀
Donk - if you're in Chorlton then Frosts or the little irish rotisserie place on wilbraham road both do top notch sausages. If you're in town the butchers in the arndale market is good!
One of the things I miss most being down under is a decent banger. Specifically those from Mr Bowtell's local farm shop in Hampshire. Casting no aspersions on those shrink-wrapped examples above, these are hand made in his shop from the pigs outside. I look back on my life so far as being pre-Bowtell and post Bowtell sausage.

Does anyone else slice fat sausages sideways and grill with Worcester and chilli sauces?
It's all about the venison.
My local butcher, Frost's in Chorlton, does some wonderful pork & black pudding sausages. The venison ones are pretty good too.
Fancying that sausage carbonara meal after reading this thread have to confess! Sausage in caramelized red onion gravy cooked in a slow cooker with yorkshire puds always a winner too 🙂
