Hi All,
Have been trying to sort out my wife's laptop/printer prob's.
Basically, the other two users can print via the wifi-ed printer but she can't. Every time she has to go through the rigmarole of telling the laptop where to find the printer. Then if she closes down, it 'forgets' it and she has to tell it again!!!

We're running vista on all pc's and laptops, and the printer is used via my pc. Have realised that the other laptops accounts have different settings in the Printer Properties box.
If I go into Printer Properties, the working accounts have :-
Advanced tab > ( my printer driver )
Ports > usb virtual ticked

My account that doesn't work has:-
Advanced tab > no printer driver seen
Ports > blank.

The Advanced tab is greyed out, even if I right click on Printer Properties and go in as Administrator.
The Ports tab - If I select to 'add port' it tells me it can't with an error message!

If I remove the Printer and re-select via Network > browse > select printer, it will work, get all these things ticked, then it forgets it all when closed down and re-opened. The tabs have gone back to blank/grey!!!!

Any ideas on how to get in and select greyed boxes, and/or how to stop it forgetting all info once shut down?

The annoying thing is, it only happens in my wife's account, both other users ( daughters ) work fine all the time. None of this stuff happens!!!!
Any ideas peeps?
cheers
