Prescription pet medicine online?

I buy my doggo stuff from here, I've never bought prescription stuff but theyve been good for Drontal/Promax etc

We used weldricks for epilepsy meds, they were really helpful and quick at processing.
For controlled drugs they required the original paper prescription to be posted to them.
Non-controlled drugs they just needed a photo of the prescription.

We used Petdrugsonline for years for our Springer x Lab’s Previcox prescription.
Really easy, you just upload a pic of the prescription and they check it and then send your order.

I also just used VetUK for some prescription items, and yes, upload a phone photo was fine, arrived swiftly for about half the vets going rate (less a fee from them for issuing a prescription of course).

Wow, the price of Clomicalm is a bit of an eye-opener.

Looks like doogo might be relying on lifestyle change measures rather than meds.

Is it a human medicine?  We just go to the local Lloyds/Sainsbury's for our pets eye drops

A quick question regarding petdrugsonline. If it’s for something like a monthly spot-on flea/worm treatment, do you just need a prescription from the vets once, or every time you order?

You could reuse your prescription pic multiple times and at multiple places. IIRC, the prescription is valid for 6 months.

Most Vets charge for prescriptions but if you were to do the above, you wouldn't need a new one for each medication purchase.

Obviously if dosage or need varies, you'll need to see the Vet again to verify the need/dosage.

I'm not sure of the legality of this so make your own decisions/take your own risks. IANAV etc etc.

My vet charges £20 for a prescription. They charged my wife £50 for the 2 min consultation then £40 for eye drops which she later bought at a supermarket for £7. We avoid buying anything from the vets until we have looked at every other avenue.

It's the price of the drugs not the prescription.

£160 for a month supply. Not going to happen.

If it's £160 from an online pharmacy, it'd prob be double that from a vet.
We were over £100 a month for medication, plus cost of paper prescriptions from vet (approx £30/month for 3 prescriptions) plus courier cost, and it was far far cheaper than buying the meds from the vet.

Not going to disagree with that. My take, though, is that when pricing up the cost of pet insurance, deduct what you'd have to pay for medicine anyway, and then the cost of the insurance becomes a little more tolerable...
