just seen one in a car park and caught myself thinking that it looked quite nice. Walked over to check rear leg room compared to my CL and was quite impressed.

I walked away wondering if i should trade the Merc. Glanced back and saw the back end of it. Fugly. How long do we wait for the 4 door Aston? Will it have any legroom?

Not too keen on it either. It get fantastic reviews for how it drives but (along with the cayenne) it aint much of a looker.
The new BM 5 series coupe looks like a nice machine as does the new Jag XJ
I think the Aston is released now- it's been driven by some of the mags so will probably hit the showrooms in a month or two. Beautiful car but costs serious bucks.

You think that's ugly...? It's a beaut compared to the 5-series GT thing.

Now that is hideous.

A four door Aston would be great. My kids hate ours and I just find it impractical. Call me a chav, but the tow bar mounted bike rack has helped somewhat.......

I think the Porche looks goodin the mags, yet to see one in the flesh.I'm sure that any of the above would be a pleasure to own.
Back to planet earth,I've been looking at cars with my lad.Saw a new Nissan Cube.Loved it.

Shouldn't think any of them are much cop for carrying bikes! Have to say I think that aside from the sport cars, Porsche designers must be blind, the Cayenne and the Panamera have to be the ugliest cars on the road.

But seriously, can't you lot find anywhere better to rabbit on about thngs that make cycling unpleasant than on a forum diedicated to riding bikes? You're like a bunch of 14-year-old kids gawping a book of supercars saying this "this ones even faster wow!" You're all stuck in the same traffic jams with the heater sucking in the fumes from the one in front.

I looked at the Quattroporte but the rear legroom is no better than the Merc. It is pretty but too compromised.

The title says "Porsche Panamera" so you know what it will be about. Just don't read it if you find cars offensive. There's one forum for bike chat and another for general chat. Just click the bike one at the top.

WCA aren't you the guy who was on here a few months ago telling us he was out of work and close to losing his house? Maybe you should learn a lesson, take the 60k burning a hole in your pocket and save it for the next rainy day

A Quattroporte would be my choice, or a Range Rover Vogue, that should be able to carry the bikes.

I looked at the Quattroporte but the rear legroom is no better than the Merc.

That doesnt matter because if you own a Maserati you would never sit in the back.

The key fob is the same shape as the car, bit cheesy in my view. Had one at work for benchmarking and it is not up to the usual standard of Porsche fit and finish, the valet guys will cut themselves to ribbons on the headlamps and taillamps (wide gaps and razor sharp edges, US lawsuit anyone!!), not the prettiest car but seems fairly practical.

I think it is a shame the QP is so underpowered compared to the german rivals, so I'll have an RS6 avant please. Bonkers fast, comfortable and they pass under the car haters radars. The new one is not particularly pretty but loads better than a Panamera.

I'd happily settle for an Audi S6 or RS6 over the Panamera or CL.

My mind keeps flipping between Dereks picture and UpOnTheDowns picture.

UpOnTheDowns - There is no way I would buy any of them new. Wait a couple of years and they are more affordable. My Merc was £108,000 new before you touched the option list. I paid less than £20,000 with only 40,000 on the clock.

I agree the Audi RS6 Avant version is a beast and rare, I also like the new Jag XF [IMG] [/IMG]

I have one in black please.

I've seen two Panemaras out in the wild and they look OK to me. Like a x2 fat 911 😆 Bloody big too - or make that tall. They don't do much for me.

However I saw a 5series GT the other day. My god it makes a X6 look like a thing of beauty. I guess that they will sell though.

The X5 gt is a niche too far.

Saw one parked next to an X6 and all I could think was that they were the two ugly sisters waiting for Cinderella.

Agree with WCA, you can't beat big fast cars once the depreciation has taken its toll.

My 5 series was £42k new, I paid just over £2k.
