Ephotozine forum is excellent. Very good for beginners and lots of helpful, knowledgeable types too. 'Snot like here - everyone's very polite 😀 *
*certainly used to be good - haven't been in in a while.

AV Forums is pretty friendly and informative

The "digital photography school" forum and blog always used to be very good for beginners. All very polite with an active critique section where even the most crappy guff would get constructive comments and encoragement.
No visited for years though so it may have changed now.
