A couple of friends and some family members have planted the idea in my head that printing some of my photos of the local area onto greetings cards and postcards might actually be a good way to raise a little cash and give me something to do. We get a lot of tourists in the area and there are a few places where I can set up a small trading stall.

I've got a few idea's roughed out but Im struggling with finding a decent photo printer that isnt going to break the bank. I know absolutely nothing about printers as the last one I bought was a big HP A3 and that was 10 years ago.

So whats good in the world of photo printers at the moment? What can the STW Photography massive recommend?

Ta 😀

HP are my current fave, moving from Epson, although they are good too.

If you want to print photos, get one with 5 colours instead of 3. That is, Magenta, Cyan, yellow and light pink and very light blue. Removes the dotty effect of skin and skies then.

Given the cost, you'd be better off getting Boots to print them for you! Their prices drop when you get more pics printed - and home printing is usually inferior to theirs.

Cheaper, better print quality and lest hassle if you out source your picture printing.

For example, I've just got a 1000 A5 flyers full colour printed onto good quality paper for £90, I couldn't do that cheaper at home with all the paper, inks and ware and tear on the printer.
