Thinking of going to a personal trainer to help up my general fitness and wellbeing. Anyone got any experience, good or bad?
Thanks for the link Kev but I think that's a bit extreme for what I had in mind.
Stavro, I was a 14 stone wheezing wreck before joining BMF, 3 months in a blue bib, 6 months in a rd bib, been a green for nearly two years, I cannot recommend it enough, it is in effect personal training in a group, dont be deterred by the military word.
Just short of 12 stone now
Good luck anyway !
4 times a week before I start work. Fitness has come on across the spectrum. strength, endurance and aerobic capacity. Focus on your weak areas and the difference is amazing.
When i was younger you could arrange to meet a mate. Nowadays we are all married, divorced, kids and competing pressures. It makes you turn up while otherwise its easy to stay in bed if you're not meeting anyone and you max your time out while your there.
I always thought it sounded a bit iffy but it's worth the outlay. IMHO
I use one in St Helens twice a week and it's brilliant.
£7 a 1 hour session and I feel the fittest I've even felt (I'm 44 you know?) all my aches have gone and with the miles I'm riding so has my belly.
It's only excersises you could do at home but with someone who know's what they are talking about and telling you how to do them properly.
I know that I could do them myself at home but I know I'd skip a session and skive off the full amount of reps as well.
10/10 for PB fitness of St Helens
never used one but if you need someone to talk to about your specific fitness goals and to give you a routine that works for what you want to achieve, and a motivation to do it regularly, I reckon it's worth a go.
I reckon paying for it means you're more likely to look after yourself re diet and beer too.
Get them to work on your core strength too - works wonders on your general wellbeing and hill-climbing/power on the bike
Went to my first session today with stavro jr. and I must say it was a pleasant suprise. Really enjoyed myself doing exercise and thanks for all the replies.
