If you use the gift option in paypal does this effect the charges.
Or Why are people asking for this option????
no charges to the recepient if you send money as a gift
Thanks
There *are* charges if your PayPal account isn't linked to a bank account IIRC.
and there's no buyer protection (again, IIRC)

No protection for the sender if you send money as a gift.
Yeah, I'm very suspicious when people say "paypal gift only" it can mean "I don't want to pay the charges" but it can also mean "I'm planning to rip you off".
i only do gift to people whom i have either met ... or know i could meet ... ie people that do races etc .....
I'm not sure you're right about no payer protection actually.
Fwiw, i won't take paypal except as a gift and happily use it as a method to pay on here
by paying as gift you forfeit all protection ... thats why there are no fees ....
hasn't this just changed and now there are charges?
sent money to my self (dont ask) as a gift tonight and was no charges
