Bu…r, B….r, B….r.

2 rides, 3 punctures, 2 today, front & rear.

Tyres, tubes only recently fitted, probably 200 miles.

On tarmac lanes as well, not even off road.

Tiny little pointed pieces of gravel, about 3mm tall. Still embedded in tyre, and enough to put the smallest of holes in the tube, less than 0.5mm.

Used Park sticky patches to speed up the repair stop.

Also tyre/rim (Fulrum)combination is SO TIGHT, have to carry the tyre jack in the saddlepack.

#Looking for new tyres/tubes.

Aren't they tubeless, or is it only certain sizes?

When Boblo and I rode the Pacific coast, I had five punctures in a day like you describe, the following day I had another on Gravel Kings. I think he had three on the first day. We used up all our patches and tubes. They have been hanging on the garage wall ever since I git back. Switched to Schwalbe Marathon Supremes, they've been fantastic

I've only had one puncture in two sets of Gravel Kings running them tubeless, and that was because the sealant has gone dry.

Not surprised Marathon Supremes haven't punctured, they are about double the weight! Gravel King + sealant + spare tube and you're still saving weight!

I must have done almost 1000 miles on my Gravel king SK 43mm, one slow puncture in that time. First few hundred miles were with tubes, riding south downs bridleways riddled with flints and thorns. Later mileage has been with tubes filled with stans sealant, and last 400 miles in North West Scotland without an issue. Compared to schwalbe g-ones and maxxis rambler, which both lasted about 20 miles before death by flint, I'm impressed. Also rode a few hundred miles on the non SK version with only one puncture (with tubes). Was thinking of trying some marathons at some point, there's a weight trade off, but pretty happy with the gravel kings so far.

Just looking at the weight of them I would not go near them for the area I ride in (especially if using tubes) as it is very stoney gravel with lots of sharp flints.  I have even punctured a Marathon Plus!

Light tyres are lovely to ride but fixing a flat on pretty much every ride ruins it for me and I just use heavy duty tyres and don't have to bother with punctures and that is the compromise that works for me.

Currently using Specialised Sawtooth which are 600 grams so very heavy but a true 43mm wide and roll really well.  No punctures yet...
