We will be in touch
Hi,
I've got some 240v type outdoor LEDs to go up in the garden. They both have regular 3 pin plugs on the end. I do have a single outdoor socket going back to a RCD in the garage consumer unit.
Would it be best extend that outdoor socket and wire in a couple of IP rated switched fused spurs for them?
The other option would be to get the wires in through the garage walls somehow and plug them in direct to a socket inside. This might prove troublesome and more faff...
Latter option would be better and cheaper. In future try and but low voltage garden lighting, transformer in the garage and low voltage outside which is safe and doesn't trip everything if it gets wet.
Since you already have RCD protection covered, one of these is simple and safe to use.
