Just watched the final! How smart are some of those people?
I did pretty well in the last 2 rounds, crap in the first 2...
Too many points available on the missing vowels round.
As above, some seriously smart people , makes mastermind look like the dumbed down rubbish that it is.
Perhaps it just aligned with my obscure knowledge but I actually found that a bit more accessible (I won't say easier) than some previous finals.

Haven’t seen the final yet. Other half is ill, so saving it for when she’s up and about. Last week’s runoff was impressive enough. Although, it’s the first time I’ve got all four lines in a wall where they have not. BIKE BRANDS YOU IDIOTS!!! [ obviously not idiots, but rare to have some knowledge that a team don’t, so I got a bit excited ]
First six minutes of Detectorists… so damn good!
I got at least two of the questions in the opening round. Far too easy. Missing vowels round is a piece of piss as well 🙂
We tend to watch on iPlayer and pause the walls, then me and Ms Beej try and figure it out independently until one/both of us solves or both give up. It's rare we both solve completely but we managed for both walls in the final! Obviously we have much longer than the contestants.
Rest of the questions... um.. I think we got one between us. And a couple of the missing vowels.
I did better in the final than in most of the other episodes. Both teams were great but I thought the golfers would edge it.
Ulterior motive. Posting was not just because it's a good show. One of the Data Wizards walks (well, rides) among us. They don't post as often as they used to, too busy reading obscure books I suppose, but still pop up from time to time. I leave it to them to out themselves if they wish, but well done anyway.

No spoilers so I'm glad the, er, team that won, won, the captain of the other team seemed like a bit of a tool.
As mentioned by a few others, it did seem easier than previous finals. They didn't seem to ramp up the toughness over the heats. Some good questions as ever.
