Okay heres a puzzler for the camera nerds, im looking for a decent camera between £400 and £500 with a video recording facility, external hot shoe and mic input.

Ive seen the Casio EX-F1 but its not got the best of reviews does anyone know any others i should consider?

If you can extend your budget up a bit more then a Nikon D90, comes into range which would give you everything you need, or is that a little too big?

As the D90 takes F lenses you could pick up some older lenses from Ebay until you can afford to extend it with some newer ones.

Do you want a big thing that needs lugged about in a bag, or something that can slip into a pocket? That's the first place to start!

Pepper the d90 is a bit too big ive already got a DSLR i barely use.

jmann ive looked at both the s200exr and the sx1 but neither have an external mic input.

I have also looked at the Sony HX1, Kodak Z980 but again no external mic input. I think i may be expecting too much.
