anyone stayed at this YHA? what were yout thoughts aboit it and the area? is there a shop close by to buy food to cook with? 🙂

Stayed there years ago (about twenty) when doing the peninne way. Basic YHA iirc. May have changed.
The pub next door is nice and the food is very good and also has rooms (last there a couple of years back).
Not much in the area shop wise but I'm sure one of the mile castles along the wall has a small shop which sells coffees and confectionary. Nearest proper shop is in Haltwhistle.
Some good riding in the area though.
