One caveat is although their english is perfect, northern accents are a little tough for them. Therefore, Peter Kay is out.

Bill Bailey is funny, surprisingly non-sweary but maybe a bit too UK-centric (Tinselworm & Dandelion Mind)
Chris Rock and Dave Chappell are very American, rude and funny (really interesting stuff about race, drugs and sex) - full "specials" are on youtube
Jim Jefferies is worth it for his brilliant bit about gun control, but maybe not with the inlaws for the ruder/more distasteful stuff. (Similarly, definitely NOT Jim Norton - extremely explicit)
Billy Connelly if they can handle the accent (Live in New York for a fairly recent show)

If you want to watch a DVD of someone - depending on their language skills - you might need to choose someone with similar cultrural refernce points who doesn't do too much word play/pun stuff. you might find Tim Vine/Milton Jones/Jimmy Carr etc too fast and word based.
