Just finished watching the Nic Cave documentary '20000 days on Earth' , I've loved his music for ages but didn't know a great deal about him. Wow , what a guy and what a great documentary . Great to see an artist writing his thoughts and lyrics in books or typing notes on a typewriter instead of Apple Macs.
Some great wee cameos in the movie too though I thought It was a Bet365 add when Ray Winstone popped up.

I aw the 'Premiere' (some cinema showed the premiere live from London. NC did a few tunes live, too). Fab. Makes you wonder where some of the darker lyrics come from though, doesn't it?

Married to Suzy Bic I think who was a girl I met a few time when I was a courier in London.

The Birthday Party stuff was good as well.

Yeah you get the idea If he wasn't a succesful rock star he would be a bawhair away from being a serial killer . There was quite a interesting part in the documentary that he used to go to church in West London then immediately go up to Holland Park to score some smack as he could justify It by doing a little bit of good and bad.
In a world of bland Coldplays and U2's we need to celebrate the Nick Cave's and Iggy Pop's to redress the balance. The version of Jubilee Street at the end is worth watching for an hour and a half alone.

It's a great film - double great if you live in/ know Brighton.

Tenuous claim to fame - I know the person who owned before / sold Nick Cave his house, and I've been in the basement flat below the main house which is now Mr Cave's office and features in the film

More mundane tales of Nick - I have seen NC on the bus, and queuing for ice cream. He once nodded at me on Hove sea front, (i think because my daughters were being quite cute at the time) He is definately the best celebrity in Brighton

Had a wee beside him at the Komedia cinema on Saturday, after seeing Interstellar. They trailed his film beforehand.
Not interesting, but true.
