I'm looking at a new composite front door and quite like the long vertical bar handles. These seem to require a 'slam lock' type mechanism as there's no traditional handle for you to pull up and engage the locking mechanism.
Sounds good for security, but I can see myself getting accidentally locked out as they lock themselves shut and you need the key to open from the outside.
Anyone got this type of lock and how do you get on with it day to day?
Can you override them like a Yale nightlatch for bringing the shopping in?
