May, McFadden, even O'Driscoll.

Didn't matter how talented you might be, if your name was Brian, he just couldn't get past it.

(tbf, the O'Driscoll & McFadden bit might be bullshit...he's been dead since '86 🙂 )

I think he still would have hated them. Anytime I brought home a new friend called Brian from school, my dad would tell me why we shouldn't and couldn't be friends...wrong part of town, horrible parents, liked Man Utd, or rugby league. It was only after he died that I realised he just didn't like Brians.
