They lost me on their last two albums, drifting off into middling tunes.

Got the new one this morning 'Delta' and whilst it's been described as experimental - I wouldn't go that far, but it's certainly a very cosy record with plenty of new sound, even if the formula of quiet, quiet, loud is still there - which I like actually.

It's the kind of album to play Christmas morning.

Too early to proprerly rate it but loving it so far.

This year I've been desperately needing a warm record and very few have hit the mark.

I hate them with a passion you can only dare to dream of . But it's great we all like different things 🙂

Mumford & Sons song formula is as follows:

I'm really feeling a bit cheesed off...AND I'VE GOT A BANJO!

They're not a bad band if you like that kind of thing.

However; the massive overexposure and heavy rotation of their early output was enough to put anyone off and if I worked somewhere where I'd hear them every 5 minutes I'd probably be on the same page as howsyourdad1 by now.

I got that way with Green Day many many moons ago, to the point where I'd rather listen to Foxes shagging than them, revisisted Dookie and Kerplunk this year after the best part of a decade long detox and throughly enjoying them again now.

Yep Green Day lost their way with American Idiot although I actually really liked a few of the songs on it; Warning was a bit hit and miss. Everything after is total dross, and I’d probably still call them my favourite band. Kerplunk/Dookie/Nimrod are superb!

dont mind Mumford & Sons, always amused by the animosity toward them. Will check the new offering out.

Mumford and Sons are a modern day Lighthouse Family.

Utter tripe!

Nothing like lighthouse family. For a start never heard them in Debenhams.

Listening to it right now, I like!

Saw them play at aviemore a few years ago and really enjoyed them, although I liked the local band 'Tweed' who were also playing just as much 😀

I heard them in Morrisons. That was a deal closer for me.

I think the arctic monkey's fake tales of sanfrancisco was written about the thrills but it often reminds me of mumford and sons.

That said the couple of singles where mumford and sons went electric and ripped off late period kings of leon are a guilty pleasure.  There. I said it.

Shirley that’s the Pogues? Can’t say they’ve ever set my musical world alight, but I’ve never thought of them as having that much of an Irish sound, more Americana; the banjo isn’t really Irish. Saw them once in Hyde Park, along with Beirut and a couple of other bands supporting Arcade Fire. Beirut were better than Mumph.

I’m sorry but if you think there’s any comparison between the Arctic Monkeys and this lot then you’re clearly off your box

As with so many things in life, Mark E Smith has it right

You know that guy who couldn't treat people with a whole lot of respect. He's a hero him.
