Is anyone able to succinctly explain this bolex to me?
My wife has bought a new laptop and it appears that MS office 2010 programs no longer appear as discrete exe files in a folder somewhere. They're part of a virtualisation package - what does this mean? Surely it doesn't mean you need to be online to use word?

It's part of Office365. Office 2010 in the cloud.

You need to run the program, and first time, it will download things from the interwebs.

Then IIRC you can use it as 'normal' from then on, locally.
