MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
Alperton. Obviously.
Alperton having opened up all of the diagonals that leaves me clear to Swiss Cottage. Get out of that.
Git. Now I have to go to Clapham.
And I know what the next move will be too, nothing I can do about it.
Easy, its the Wandsworth Interchange via Elephant but not Castle 😈
St Paul's. Bet that wasn't what you were expecting!
Right, I'm putting down one of my Jokers to allow me the rotary hamstring needed to play...
Mile End.
Hmmm, not sure I've got the hang of this, and I'm leaving myself open to ridicule, as usual, but everyone has to start somewhere, so...
Plaistow
Not on my watch.
Camberwell with a twist.
Camberwell.
.
[EDIT} Bugger! Too slow.
I can't go anywhere else until someone makes a lateral move to free up the diagonal off the Bakerloo line.
I can't go anywhere else until someone makes a lateral move to free up the diagonal off the Bakerloo line.
Good knowledge. I approve.
I'll put brakes in nib, and free up that diagonal for you in one smoooove mooooove.
Blackfriars.
Thanks.
Green Park.
.
Nothing personal Brakes.
Dollis Hill.
Clockwise, if that needs to be declared.
Not really, but it doesn't hurt to state the obvious for the benefit of the slower ones
ok then..
Newcross, on the dip..!!
You like those modern moves suckers..?
Not recognised under the Winchester covenants but first used legally in 1978 by the late Severiano "Seve" Ballesteros Sota, and now used again here to great effect by me..
bosh!
Not really, but it doesn't hurt to state the obvious for the benefit of the slower ones
It's probably worth explaining moves just for the benefit of people who are learning the game. I know that in professional games it's frowned upon but I think for the purposes of an informal game like this on a bike forum it's rude not to.
Newcross, on the dip..!!You like those modern moves suckers..?
Yunki, you're mad. Ballesteros always sucked, the general consensus is that he was bluffing and making up moves as he went along. That's not a 'modern move', it's simply... well, nonsensical.
I mean, how the hell do you get to Newcross from Dollis Hill... well, I was going to say "with the Bakerloo diagonal blocked" but thinking about it, ever? There's just no direct route, it doesn't exist. You can't even shunt there for crying out loud.
I'm calling foul and demand at least a zone 2 Travelcard forfeit. Referee!!
The diagonal isn't blocked though, CFH freed it up when he went to Blackfriars, although I agree Newcross is, at best, borderline, even with Mortimer's 3rd in use.
.
I'm not sure enough to challenge your call of foul though, I'm not risking being sent back to Epping! Anyone feeling brave?
Not feeling brave so I'm going to play it safe at this time of night.
Harrow and Wealdstone.
To be fair it was iffy, don't blame you.
.
Finsbury Park.
Huh that's madness, I give you Hatfield

Euston.
Altogether now: "mind the gap!"
.
Incorrect those words would be voiced at the Bank station Central Line
Acton Town. The hard way.
tricky... I went and played my joker too early so I can't do the obvious thing and pull the emergency stop cord...
Well... Edgware Road
I'm not proud of it but I just don't see where else I can go. Not a good start to the day.
That's alright, not a lot else you could do.
.
Is Brakes still in Nib by the way? Can't you get from Camberwell onto the circle line without being huffed?
Not the most tactical of moves I know, but just for a Thursday morning giggle
Bank (central line)
Altogether now "Mind the gap".
Bank is it?
Hmm.
Hackney Square.
Using the diagonal from Greenwich Old Market...
And the net begins to close.
Farringdon.
and to tighten it that little bit more
Rayners Lane via Holburn
Ooooh, getting exciting now.
Chalk Farm
whoa, where did that come from
Errr.... #panics a little bit#
DO or Die, Chancery Lane!
Upminster Junction by The Emirates Cable Car!!!
ZOOOMMMMM & its all open.....
Indeed it is, open all the way to
Mornington....
CRESCENT!!!!!!!!
ah no, but... #checks the MC compendium#
bugger!
whoa whoa whoa
that may have been a premature mornington crescent there.
Did you account for the daylight penalty in effect from mrlebowski's use of the cable car?
ruling please
unklehomered did you look in appendix A2.16 of the compendium?
I did, but you will remember A2.16 is one of the clauses subject to the Trumpmarsh Provisions of 1983, chapter 4, paragraph 5 (p463, at the bottom under the coffee ring).
It is a sound Crescenting, though I grant you when someone wins under the Trumpmarsh Provisions I'm never sure whether to take it as skill, or blind fluke.
For those not able to consult the compendium, or who find its 15.16[recurring]kg, inconvenient to keep about their person, the Trumpmarsh Provisions of 1983 are one of the deregulatory additions from the Thatcherite arm of the MCCC (Mornington Crescent Council for Correctness), it invalidates a large number of regulations implemented up until that point, including (and this is the tricky part), itself.
My mistake, i was thinking of the Hairidorbs Appendage of '81
I've hopped three times and whistled Jerusalem for my false accusation
I'll happily set the ball rolling with a victory lap of Goodge street. Starting classical there.
Time for Lord Tolifords Gambit
Uxbridge
Bit of a risk, but Heathrow Terminal 5.
Bristol Temple Meads
stick that in yer pipe
You git, I was just about to go for Bristol Parkway and you've gone and blocked it. I see where you're going though and Hampton Court should put you firmly back in your place.
I'm going to try and reduce my magic number to 7 with
North Greenwich
Ruislip....(all of them!)
no more pissing about
Well I'll just have to reverse the polarity of the neutron flow with Cowcaddens!! Hah!! 😛
Well that's me out until a Zone3 station. 😡
Hells, are you playing Morningside Crescent? Don't worry, I made a prat of myself using Edinburgh rules in the first game, but I think Cowcaddens may be out of bounds even for that!
hmmm the gambit has only partially paid off thanks to therealhoops, but Maida Vale should throw the cat amongst the pigeons
(Fact: That's the name of a band who once did a session for John Peel at Maida Vale)
(Fact 2: Fact 1 might or might not have been made up)
Pimlico.
Beeeeeyatch!
motherfu..... 👿
sorry, best keep this a clean game.
I'm forced to go Acton Town and let hoops back in
Hmm you may be right, the Glasgow variation is a bit limited in it's application!
In that case I'm invoking rule 42 and going with Buckhurst Hill!!
It's probably worth explaining moves just for the benefit of people who are learning the game. I know that in professional games it's frowned upon
I think there is more than one professional playing here while pretending otherwise. Fine level of play
SWISS
c'mon then 😈
I'm going to have to shunt to Primrose Square... 😥
is that your move or a euphemism?
You lot worry about the rules to much, just play the game.
Northfields
yeh, like I'm going down there just before the school run 🙄
If a tree falls in a forest, and a mime hears it, do you care?
Blackfriars.
I haven't read the whole game, so as an interluder has anyone commented on the obvious mishtake in the OP headline?
Anyway, I digress, and wonder if the Greathead Shield is one of the sub-rules allowed? In which case
Mark Lane.
Is Kew Park by water-taxi allowed this time of day?
It is between 15:00 & 17:30 which if I remember correctly in the 2nd edition 3rd revision of the Queens rule it was ok as long as you werent wearing a top-hat (I'm not)
Fleet Street, and the south eastern laterals are now closed.
Burnt Oak to Golders via the train replacement service.
riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.
White City.
Kensal Rise
Richmond, and the south western laterals are closed too. That leaves diagonals and shunting only south of the river.
*gasp*
That leaves diagonals and shunting only south of the river.
.
I knew it was a risk going to Heathrow Terminal 5, I only just got away with that! Right on the riverside 🙂
.
Ealing Common.
LOL! 5pm Thursday 🙂
General Wade (5th amendment)
Vauxhall. Don't tell me no-one saw that coming. Especially you Unkle
Acton
Town, obviously.
East Finchley.
NO! West!! I meant West. West Finchley.
That was close.
East Finchley kicks off the compass points.
South Kensington
Not so fast, Flashy. Read Bregante's move again; he's misread my move and incorrectly moved from East Finchley.
He can't go directly to South Kensington from West Finchley off-peak (which is exactly why I corrected myself). The primary ordinals are still closed.
Read Bregante's move again; he's misread my move and incorrectly moved from East Finchley.
Do we have to take the first answer or is he allowed to change his mind?
Pretty sure its first answer unless we're playing by the Frankhouse deviations, and if we are no-one's mentioned it, I think he gets detained by transport police and misses three goes.
