Trying to install the demo version of Minecraft for my son on our iMac running OSX 10.6.8. Have registered and downloaded and installed the Launcher, but it's asking for a Username to Login with. When I registered I wasn't asked to create a Username - it just asked for an email address and password. The email address doesn't work as the Username, so I'm stuck.

I've tried playing in the Browser, Firefox and Safari, but each time it tells me there's an Inactive Plugin.

What next???

Try just registering again? https://account.mojang.com/register?agent=minecraft

Agree with mikewsmith in a way, however it keeps my kid occupied sometimes. (Like after he's got in from playing rugby and needs to chill). Thing is though, he's found these Youtube videos of GROWN MEN playing the game and talking their way through it. I find this a bit weird. (You can't see the players, just the game, fortunately).

I tried registering again but there is nowhere to create a username. Not sure how to get around that - it doesn't offer the chance to make a username, but then it requires that you have one to play the game. Strrange.

It also turned out to be a hoax, the whole thing was staged. Funny, though.

A dramatised recreation, is probably the fair way to describe it.
