is it a goer? weather good etc? wanted to see the whales at baja but not sure if theyre around at that time of year anyhow.....any tips welcome!
I don't know about Christmas - I think they're very seasonal - but I saw grey whales in the bay near San Ignacio in April 2005 and it was great...they come right up to you in your little boat and you can pet them. Or did you mean the blue whales on the inland side? (great whites too apparently!)
Also I'm not sure that northern Baja is safe to visit now (or anywhere outside Cabo san Lucas). Might be wrong, but check that. There was uncertainty even when we were there (we actually hitched with some guys who we now think were probably drug runners - we were their legit cover sorta thing). It's a shame as bahia concepcion (we camped at playa fuentaventura (sp.?)) was beautiful like the beach but on Mars, with aged American hicks and gun nuts in RVs
