I don't care. I like mittens. Preferably 'professional' type ones that fold open to allow access to stuff in your pockets.

Obviously not bike-related mittens.

Where from? String attaching them both together under my jacket/arms optional

Don't dress in drag then if you stumble and fall over or at least no stilettos.
