Is it my imagination or does the last copy of MBR look a bit empty, no editor comment, a bit sparse of content? Are they in trouble? Or just away for the summer?

The "Canadian bike showdown" (front page) which only featured 2 bikes did it for me. So sloppy.
I don't think I'll buy it again.

All of the above are correct.
I would heartily recommend a magazine called Singletrack but I'm not at all sure where one would find such a tome.

I know, but I do quite like the cheesiness of MBR, and you can't have enough bike porn can you?

Liked the BC bike race bit! It's a catalogue some months but to be honest if it allows me three dumps of reasonable duration a month it's worth the sub........ 😆

I'd been thinking the same thing, its all gone a bit thin. Just been buying it out of habit for the last year or so. Something I really must kick and just spend the money on more riding. Its not informing or entertaining at the moment just advertorial straight from the press release. Bought the last couple of issues of the re-vamped MBUK, seems to have gone a bit more mature.

I think Singletrack is still the best out there.

Do they still use the phrase 'prop the front up' far, far too much? I can't read the mag for that reason alone. Either the writer has no idea what he is talking about or is unable to express what he really means. No good for a writer either way 👿

...but then I took out a STW sub just after I turned 40. That may be all you need to know about my preferences 🙁

I haven't bought that for years, apart from one issue where I was informed a match box size picture of me was in it!

It's quite vacuous on the whole - I always flick through it at the supermnarket, in case there is anything of interest to buy it for.

British cycling are offering various bike mags 3 for 3 quid on their web site, for BC members.

The combined ride/interview things they're doing are superb though... The Guy Martin and Crawfy ones in particular were the best things I've seen in any bike mag, by a fair way. It's a clever format but also very well done.

The rest of the mag, well, it's MBR isn't it. Unchanged as far as I can tell. The last few issues before this one were unusually good, this one's maybe slightly down on standard.
