If any number divided by zero is infinity, what is infinity divided by zero?
Just wondering apropos of nothing.
Infinity
Unknown?
post truth infinity plus 1 or NAN depending on which is larger
Ask Siri......
What is zero divided by zero?
INF / 0 == 6 * 42 / ?-1

A false statement implies any statement.
Numberwang.
If you say infinity / by 0 = infinity.
Then your saying infinity x 0 = infinity, but it must equal 0.
So it doesn't work proppa
The answer, my curious friend, is within...

(A good listen!)
0 to the power of 0 is the real challenge!
I thought it was undefined rather than infinity - it's only infinity as the denominator approaches zero rather than when it reaches it. Therefore, on the same basis, as the second denominator approaches zero then the number gets larger faster but is still infinity and is still undefined when the denominator(s) actually reach zero
or maybe not
Dividing by zero is not a thing. It doesn't make sense in terms of modelling. There are no circumstances in which it solves a real or theoretical problem

N+1. This is a bike forum after all.
= infinity

It is infinity as well. But it might a higher order of infinity
Iirc you say something tends to or approaches infinity, nothing ever IS infinity
Joint honours @cynical. My answer is the same as yours.
X / 0 = infinity
ie it doesn't matter what x is
Approaches. Correct, by its very different infinity isn't a single point / number
My maths teacher told me it was undefined, not infinity.
In ordinary arithmetic, the expression has no meaning, as there is no number which, multiplied by 0, gives a (assuming a?0), and so division by zero is undefined.
From Wiki. So yes if you think about division being the inverse of multiplication, it's an impossible situation. Hence the OP's paradox.
You can not divide by zero. Infinity is not a number. As CharlieMungus says, the question 'makes no sense'.
Can we have an easier question, please?
OK, If Mrs Goggins has four sheep that produce two bales of wool each every year and she gives two bales to the Reverend Garfunkel, which hes divides equally amongst his flock, who are constitued of two thirds of the inhabitants of Mansriggs and Osmotherley identifyng Unitarian Satanists, constituing no less than the combined number of the inhabitants identifying as Moonies and Seventh Day adventists but no mor than one eitgth of those identifying as Church of the latter day saints in an overall population varying beetween 200 and 8 million, depending on the season (of which it is Autumn), as deductable against the tithe they pay the Reverend Garfunkel and one bale is equal to the value of 25 sheaves of barley of which Farmer Selfharmer produces 250 but is required to supply two thirds of this to the ministry of pigs how much is the reverends net return for farmer selfharmers barley tithe affected by the offset of the blaes of Mrs Goggins wool passed on as a gratuity via the Revernad and please state your answer in the equivalent unit of goats milk

Aeroplane. Treadmill runway. Go!
Taking off or landing?
Good to hear it Andy!

Physics degree, we get quite slack on these things 😉

The answer, idiots, is infinity and beyond
