Am reinstalling my Garmin maps on a new Mac. Have the new unlock codes from Garmin, am trying to install the Topo UK Map onto the Mac first. When I put the disc in the Mac nothing happens, I just get the icon in the top right of the screen.

Instructions for the disc say if the disc doesnt run automatically I should

double click the CD Icon
double click on the START_HERE.html file

Problem is I dont see START_HERE

Anyone know what I do?

Thanks

I think you'll be needing to use mapInstall... http://www8.garmin.com/macosx/index.jsp

I'm guessing you're a previous Mac user? On Lion? Is the disc compatible?
what do you see when you double click the icon on the desktop- a finder window? If you can't see the window do you have any other windows open- sometimes windows migrate to the back and can be difficult to find What files?

If you go into Finder from the dock, I guess you can see the disc in the LH pane- when you select it, what files are in the right hand pane?

New to Macs, using Leopard I think.

Have got Mapinstall (thanks Rachel). Problem I am having is that I cant open the TOPO Map CD ROM. When I double click I just get a bunch of files in the right pane that wont run.

autorun.inf
MAIN.msi
SETUPGBENU.dll etc etc

those are windows files, so they won't run on a mac,

I can't help you with how to get it to work, but thought i should point that out.

Are there are .iso files? dmg? they will run, or at least you have a chance.

I'm guessing you haven't installed Basecamp yet? You'll need to. As far as I can remember, you can open the map CD from inside Bascamp and install it from there.

Don't think with the new Lion anything PC is working on a MAC at the moment.
I'm having problems with mine has used to be Snow Leopard and recently
updated to Lion.

They are sending me a Mac compatible CD-ROM, seems the old one no longer works.

Cheers
