Just got a new mac yesterday having only ever had a pc so I'm having a play around with it today and I can't seem to find out how to use my right click to copy & paste stuff.
I am a complete Mac virgin although I do have an iPhone.

Control + Click gives right click on a Mac

Or buy a 2 button mouse. It will "just work".

go into system preferences : mouse and enable secondary click. You can then just press on the right hand side of the mouse as you would a two button mouse. No need to use control click.

What muppetWrangler said. Also, you can scroll up/down by stroking the mouse. There are various other gestures if you're using the Lion OS.

Are you using a mouse or a trackpad? Mouse is as above, trackpad needs a 2-finger click for right-click. If you're using a mouse then a magic trackpad is a good investment when you feel the need to [s]upgrade[/s] spend more money.

Tempted to go for a trackpad now. Find that gestures on top of a magic mouse are starting to get a bit fiddly.

Get hold of BetterTouchTool. Allows much more customisation of gestures/clicks/swipes than the native mac software.
