Why is it in these hitherto unparalleled days of choice and artisan bread making, that it's impossible to find a long slot toaster on the high street?

Of course the internet saves all, but I've just been to Currys, and no joke, out of probably over TWO DOZEN models, not a single one can take a slice over the sliced 4 inch wide. Very odd.

Sorry, first world probs etc...

That's why most ovens come with a grill built in. Makes better toast than a toaster.

Yep, is tricky: went with a Bosch TAT6805GB off AO in the end

Why toast nice bread? Its already cooked and tastes nice so eat it as is. Toast some ordinary slice bread.

It's amazing to think that the way we used to shop was to either buy what was available on the local high street or, you know, do without lol

Having suffered this previous and wanting to toast mothers pride "plain" bread.

I bring you the Morphy Richards 44238 fusion .

Not posh branded but works and accepts large bread.

I think Argos is coming to the rescue, i'm drawing the line at paying 60 quid plus waiting for the Bosch one above though.

Currys was a complete illusion of choice though, aisle shelf must have been 30ft long, and every toaster was nearly the same.

Naturally i don't toast fresh bread, i'm not a complete animal!

The king of toasts. Especially the ootsiders

Indeed are you even scottish if you don't like toasted ootsider slathered in thick melted butter and marmalade.......

Infact when I land in the UK tomorrow I reckon I'll be cycling to the co op for some mother's pride and marmalade.

Good sourdough makes the best toast imaginable.

Mothers pride outsider, never lives up to the hype.
