Can't believe the difference between this and the 85% stuff

If you haven't tried 90% do it now

Might go back downstairs for another couple of pieces

Or 99%.
It comes in tiny pieces and good job, as nice as it is one or two at a time is enough for me.

I find it better for cooking with than eating.

The 99% stuff needs to be taken with good coffee - square of choc on tongue, slurp coffee, hold in mouth...

I can't stand it neat though. 85% is about my limit.

A good red wine and a strong chocolate are also top notch.

"Chocolat a croquer" inside a chunk of baguette takes some beating imo.

Illicit easter egg scoffing beats that sort of thing hands down

Ah, but the smell of whisky makes me want to vomit, due to the consumption of large amounts of Drambuie on my 21st.

Trust me, vomit and 99% Lindt isn't a good combo.

Comparing whisky to Drambuie is like comparing 90% Lindt to a Kinder egg. That's a little unfair...!

I was ill for about 3 days on whiskey when I was about 20

took until my 30's but now I like the stuff again

I hate the stuff.

Wtf is this fascination with ever increasing cocoa mass percentages? More is not necessarily better.

Why not just eat cocoa powder from the tin with a spoon?
Even better, I've got a cake here that's 95% flour! Really amazingly hardcore, yeah!

Minging.

It's not just about the cocoa content and it's not about being hardcore.
It's about it being bloody delicious. You hate the stuff, that's great. But then you eat cakes with 95% flour and that sounds pretty minging to me. I'll stick with my chocolate thanks.

for me anything more than 60% is too bitter except perhaps as choc chips in a muffin

Well, not much that...but because your tastes mirror mine (or at least a bit) when it comes to chocolate.

Come home for lunch...and bring some chocolate...

I do like dark chocolate though, just not that stuff.

I could bring chcolate but I'd have to sit and watch you eat it since it's not treat day...

Grow out of it? It was 19 years ago...

I appreciate that there is a huge difference between Drambuie and a decent whisky, but it's a smell thing rather than a concious decision. I might have tried one or two whiskys since the "incident" but they just turn my stomach.

Surely everyone has a "never again" spirit? Normally Pernod.

beej

it was Jack Daniels that made me ill, and now I've got a taste for single malts, so you could be right, although for most of my 20's I couldn't touch any kind of whisky or whiskey

I do have a 'never again' food. Got bad food poisoning from a doner kebab and even the smell makes me feel a bit gippy now
