I'm not the greatest of film buffs but the story line looks awfully familiar. Has it been done before.
As the Mike Leigh film dose not seem to be out yet I thought I might be able to persuade the Mrs to watch a good horror instead.

Let the right one in is a truly brilliant film. I'm not sure I want to see the remake in case it's too Hollywood

Let the right one in is an excellent film.

I've been dipping my toes into some foreign stuff recently and I'm impressed up to now.

Latest version is the first Hammer film for 30 odd years.
Not the usual Gothic velvet and heaving breasts though apparently.

The "original" Let The Right One In is is a truly excellent film - very atmospheric and thought provoking at the end.

If hollywood manage to capture any of that I'll be amazed but it has had good reviews

Not seen either, but Matt Reeves is a decent director (Cloverfield).

Never been so bored in my life. Same goes for most horror films, not scary, just rubbish. Oh and District 9, waste of time.

Hate vampire movies and ones that are subtitled, got "Let the right one in" from Tesco film for Mr MC .. and it is THE BEST FILM I've ever seen. The book is phenomenal as well (they are very similar which is good) and I do not want to go and see the Hollywood version! I'm quite sad they've released one, as I imagine lots of people will miss "Let the Right One in" and that was awesome. Oh and I don't think it's supposed to be scary.

I could carry on but do you get the hint that I thought it was great?

EDIT: I wasn't a fan of Distric 9 due to the horror/violent stuff in it, however I can appreciate what a good film it was and how well made it was.

The swimming pool scene in 2let the right one in" is awesome....

an the sexual chemistry between girl ad boy is quite unerving as well....

Great film.. I think the hollywood version will ruin it.

Why do a remake?

Because Hollywood is a machine for making money, and foreign language films tend not to do at all well in the very lucrative US market. Same thing happened with The Ring films, as well as many others.

The US remakes tend to be rubbish, usually.

The original is brilliant! Just watch that and forget they even 're-made'it.

Same with Dark Water which is strangely terrifying
