on the old forum there were several expounding the virtues of pro lawncare services, and I was surprised at the cost of them (low!)
Given it's nearly spring, and that this time last year i royally ****ed the girls outdoor play area with liberal application of garden centre lawn weed and feed, I'm inclined to let someone else have a go.
But who was being recommended? Green Thumb was one, but any others. Actual recommendations in the Guildford area are particularly welcomed!
You dont need to treat it every year.
I was going to suggest Green Thumb as they seem to have a national franchise type arrangement. I took on a garden that they had looked after last year but the grass smelt weird - all those feeds etc.
There may be a decent gardener near you but I guess getting a good one without recommendation is a bit of a search.
Now is the time for sharp sand/fertiliser and aeration.
I work for a couple of people who use or have used Green Thumb and they've either made the grass worse or made no difference. They also haven't come when they're supposed to or tried to do jobs when conditions aren't right. I bet the people doing the work only get minimal training, but I could be wrong. I think they're really cheap as they buy chemicals in bulk and do the job really quickly.
