Got a claim settled finally by my insurers. They've repaid me my excess as I've been waiting on a laptop that was apparently ordered for over a week.
So I now have the above amount to spend. Will be used for browsing, kids homework, basic dtp(Is it still called that), music, photos and hopefully gopro 3 black editing

That's more like it. Do I need to be wary of "refurbished"? High street wise it would appear there's not a great deal of competition and I keep migrating back to the shark (salesman) infested waters of pcworld
