Documentary telling the story of Richard Noble's various attempts on the land speed record, including his successful record-breaking run on Nevada's Black Rock Desert on October 4th 1983.
Cool, thanks.
He was great on R4 the other day, met him at a corporate event a few years ago and he seems a good bloke, his enthusiasm was infectious.
Enjoying it already
Someone posted a link here to a Thurst SSC documentary on YouTube a few weeks back too, I think it was a thread about the Bloodhound. That was well worth a look.
I think that was probably me 😆
I've got it on DVD somewhere, love it!
Here you go
It's now on iplayer for those that missed it
Ta. Missed that. Now iPlayered... (Makes new verb up just like a Septic....).
I've got a photo of me sat on the front of Thrust 2, talking to Richard Noble somewhere. will have to dig it out.
He's bonkers in a very nice way isn't he?!
Did you notice the difference in the way the documentory was narrated compared to current ones? None of this dramatic music, long pauses followed by booming hollywood "every time he starts the car he's risking death" type commentry.
