Latest kindle here. It's great. 14 day trials on all mag subs is good.

Kindle- all other things being equal (not much between the hardware really), books are largely cheaper, and Amazon has a huge catalogue of free/nearly free self published stuff, Kobo is pretty much restricted to out of copyright staff for free.

You can use the web browser to log into gmail. It's not great but it works.

Can Kobo read Kindle format books?
Or do you need convert the Kindle books to a Kobo-friendly format?
