Saw trailers, wanted to avoid it.
Am in favour of sporting gun ownership, but I suspect that this is more about batshitmental loons thinking a Desert Eagle is a fashion accessory. Nasty, nasty culture.

Keep guns for killing small furry animals for the plate. Don't have guns for killing/maiming people.

😀 @ Junky!

Was in a "sports" shop in Tennessee once, and saw a pair of young men at the gun department. One was "trying on" handguns. Magnum 44 in one hand, Desert Eagle in 'tother. He posed, postured and pondered. Then, holding up the Desert Eagle, he said to his friend, "I think this one is more me. Don't you think?"

A Desert Eagle, FFS!
[img] [/img]

It's hardly a pair of William Evans side by sides, is it? It's a nasty, nasty weapon designed to kill and maim people. At least proper sporting guns are designed to hit a range target or provide a nice meal!

Oh, and the cricket? Cracking effort, especially from Moeen Ali, with his superb haul!

They all seem to be into hunting too Flashy - the epic battle between dumb animal and big shooty thing. Maybe they and you have more in common than you think.

Bloody hell, that guy is desperate to get his four year old daughter to shoot the gun he bought her.
I'm pro gun, but that is just too young ! She doesn't even want to shoot it FFS.
I agree with the above comment re being mentally deficient.
And yes, guns can be for fun, in the right hands, with the right targets ! ( I'm not a hunter)

When Merkins hunt, they take armor (sic) piercing bullets after a deer. That's not sporting in my book.

But yes, sadly, many Merkins hide behind hunting as their justification.

No, sporting would be if the deer could shoot back.

Its a whole different ball game in regards to firearms ownership in the US. Here in the UK, owning just a .22 rimfire is a reserved privilege for those cleared by police checks and who have have met various criteria. I personally would be in a stark minority having owned and shot with shotguns and full/small bore cartridge rifles since I turned 16. In the US a vast quantity of kids with minimal weapons system training have casual access to these cartridge rifles. The regrettable results of the US system are shown in the documentary...

Dez, to paraphrase Robin Williams, never mind the right to bear arms, what about the right to arm bears? 😉

If the pheasants around here ever start carrying, I'm in trouble! 🙂

Forcing your four year old daughter to shoot through her tears. She preferred playing with the bubble wrap in which the gun was wrapped FFS. I realise these folk are outliers (I hope anyway) but WTactualF.

Not so sure about this. The skill level, patience and quarry knowledge required to successfully hunt small game with a small bore rifle is pretty significant.

Presumably the kind of "pussies" who would rather use a weapon that guarantees an animal a reliably humane death for the purpose of providing meat for the table.

Maybe they think that if your'e going to kill it, its more humane to use a gun than beat it to death with a crowbar (cf. Durham police)

Clearly not the greatest pep talks going on mind, though to be fair I've seen dads offering similar motivational lectures to their kids at mountain bike races...

Yes chewkw. And I assume if would be a Benelli M4. You'd probably sleep with it. Strapped to your willy. Unloaded of course.

Still the kind of pussies who can't hunt. That's why they need guns. It just makes it easier.

Yeap, Benelli M4 it is ... 😆

Well, if you are going to have a gun then keep it close to you otherwise pointless.

Oh ya ... also a Glock if that helps.

🙄

Edit: Check this Glock 18 out ... [img] [/img]

So much destructive motivation going on at the speed shooting match. The booing by the father when the other kid won was sickening.

Agreed. But in a Zulu diversionary type thing, I reckon you'd see worse at an under 12s football tournament. 🙂

Quite possibly. Was always the same with the dads at kids rugby.

I was getting flashbacks of trying to get my eldest to ride his bike 🙄

They do seem to have rather significant "home invasion" issues.

is it the end of deer hunter where he tracks a deer for ages, through the woods, lines up a shot then ***s off home instead? I rather like the sound of that sort of hunting.

Indeed there is no greater way to show your concern for the animal than to make sure it is really dead when you try to kill it.
Well said.

It's hard for modern day hunter-gathers.
All that effort needed just to put some cat steaks in the fridge

As with all of our hunts, mountain lion hunting in northwest Montana is characterized by difficult terrain: the forest is very thick and wild and the elements can be harsh. Though we use dogs to track and tree the cat, the hunters must be physically fit enough to get to the treed cat in a timely manner so that it doesn’t get away. It’s also important to note that the weather plays a key role in mountain lion hunting, as a lack of snow make it virtually impossible to cut tracks.

A nine-year-old girl has accidentally shot and killed her shooting instructor as he was teaching her to use an automatic Uzi submachine gun 😯

Strange that anyone thinks a nine year old and an Uzi go together.
