Have had one as a hire car a couple of times - very competent car - changed my views of Kia s a brand.

Got one late last year. Seems all good, and does what we need it to do. Drives very nicely. We were coming from a '97 car tho so it's maybe all relative! Nice solid car tho and handles well. Stop start is good.

The in-laws have one and we take it in turns to sit in the back as it makes us feel car sick as it seems to roll a bit. May be a combination of poor driving and Irish roads though as never seen any other complaints. Boot is huge too

Fatherin law had one from new. Has to take it back to the dealers all the time to get stuff fixed. It all gets done ne'er the warranty but it's a pain in the nuts and I wouldn't touch one that was nearing the end of the warranty period

A mate has one - perfectly decent car, does everything you need a car to do at a reasonable price. I'd certainly consider one if I was after something that size.

If you want performance or excitement, look elsewhere.

Not tried a Ce'ed yet, but we have a Sportage as a company car and really impressed by it - changed my opinion of Kia completely, would happily buy one.

im mostly looking at fuel economy, size and a nice drive. Excitement in a car has never been the thing for me. Means to an end, namely getting me to the cycling/climbing/mountains/fishing as easily as possible, in comfort. That and not totally emptying the wallet......

Mrs J has a Kia Soul, which is brilliant.

We have a sedona and love it, its a great car.

Got my eye on a Sportage, just need to wait till they come down a bit in price.

Not a Kia but the Hyundai i30, basically the same car
I came from a company car BMW, the Hyundai is better built (honestly it os so solid) and a nicer drive (boring front wheel drive but nicer, not so harsh with not having run flat tyres)
Had no problems at all in over 3 years, not needed the 5 (7 on Kia's) warranty once
Spec is nice too, all the toys as standard
Next car probably be another Hyundai or Kia

Both Kia and Hyundai seem very underated right now, both are still good value but in a few years when people realise prices will rise.

we have the hatch ceed with the petrol engine, it's good if a tad gutless, good on fuel tho and comfy enough with no shortage of creature comforts. the hatch has a lot of room if you get all the seats down it's pretty big (better than a lot of other stuff on the market, more than my focus)

one thing to bear in mind, the 7 year warranty is voided if you don't have it serviced from a dealer (haven't figured out yet if I can get round this)

i've driven the slightly taller Venga - have to say its one of the most comfortable cars I've ever driven, and by quite a large margin on long drives.

I'm pretty sure that this is bollox. You need to use approved spec parts and fluids, but any VAT registered garage can do the work and stamp the book.

Had one for a week as a hire car, all very nice tbh. Steering wheel was a little slim and slippy plasticy for my hands (not dissilmilar to the mondeo the wife currently has tbh).

Did a coupla a days long haul driving and it was a nice place to be, comfy seats and cruised at 70-80mph with no bother.

I'd certainly look at one when my focus estate dies. Thought the space in the back was similar if a bit taller in the Ceed, but there was a gap of 8 months or so between driving the Ceed and getting the focus so my memory might be off.

If you don't have it serviced by a main dealer, in the event of a claim the emphasis is on you to prove that it was serviced in accordance with the manufacturer's requirements

Does anyone know the service costs for a petrol model?

7x£300 would fix a few repairs but in my zafira case that's the bill since Xmas!

Tempted by the1.6 petrol sw3.

Just checked and the new model is due in September

The lady of the house has a new (2 month old) i30. Nice enough car, honest, like skodas used to be. The paint has however fallen off the left hand side of the car, and the door skins have crumpled. More the input of a foreign lorry than hyundai's build quality though.
