Wow, a bit of a slow burn to start with (as per the TV series) but a great film and ending. If you enjoyed the show or a great UK thriller then go see 🙂
Do I need to have seen any of the TV series?
No, there are two characters from the TV series but you can just watch it without needing to know anything previous.
Cool, cheers
Spooks the TV series slow burn? In the first ever episode the female character you thought was going to be the lead had he head out into a commercial fat fryer. Not really slow burn....
Were all the locations about half a mile from Canary. Wharf except for the external shots of the Masons Hall in Covent Garden?
Sorry no idea as I don't live in London
That fat fryer thing is still probably the most unpleasant thing I've ever seen on telly (admittedly I tend to avoid really violent/gory stuff)
Might try and wangle a child free night to go and see the film.
And the series varied wildly in quality, with some really lazy (lack of) writing and near instant problem resolutions in the last couple.
I liked the fact you couldn't guarantee a lead character would survive, except "killing off" the lead man became predictable in itself.
Still intrigued though.
Excited about seeing this film, it'll be the first non kids film I'll have been to the cinema for since before mininobeerette was born, a mere 8 years ago.
Some of the movie was shot in Douglas, Isle of Man.
^^^ Lots of films shoot there due to tax breaks, unlike the mainland UK 🙁

Second episode actually 😉
And it was originally written to be be the series finale apparently, but was changed at the last minute for shock value.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the film!
That was Lisa Faulkner's character. Friend of a friend of my wife. Must ask her next time I see her if she can go in a chippy without getting panic attacks.
Saw this last night, was really, really good although I am a bit biased as I loved the TV series. Loved how it wasn't hollywoodised either, like watching the TV show in a cinema.
Is Ruth Evershed in it?
I know she was killed off in the last TV series.
Only referenced due to Harry still holding a candle for her.
Saw it last night, to be honest I didn't think it was much more than a longer TV episode to end the series. Good film for a couple of hours entertainment but basically just a 2hr special rather than a film.
Shame the BBC stopped the series.
